Netflix and Intel reported strong results this week as earnings season marches toward the major tech stocks.
The S&P 500 rose 1.7 percent between Friday, November 27, and Friday, December 4. It was the index’s fourth gain in the last five weeks. Other key benchmarks including the Dow Jones Industrial Average, Nasdaq-100, Russell 2000 and Dow Jones Transportation Average also closed at record highs.
The Market Vectors Semiconductor ETF (SMH) is up about 7 percent in the last week, making it the best-performing major fund in the entire market. Its sharp gains so far in April also put it on pace for its best month in over a decade.
